This article will go through the creation of a customer segment. We will create a simple segment as an example and go through all the features and functionalities that Storakle provides you with when using the customer segments.
You should start by going to the Customer Segments page. From there you will have to click the Create a Segment button to create a new segment. Please note that we have already created several customer segments, that we think may be useful to you. You can use them as is or as guidelines for new customer segments.
You are immediately redirected to a new page where you can start the creation of the customer segment. You will need to choose your segment rules.
There are two categories of segment rules - Purchase and Behaviour. The Purchase segment rules are related to the customer's purchase activities - e.g. Bought a product, Did not buy a product, etc. The Behaviour segment rules are related to the customer's store behaviour - e.g. which products did the user visit, which products he add to cart, etc.
Drag and drop the chosen segment rule to the empty space in the right side of the page.
You will have to set the rule properties.
In the rule properties, you can choose the condition of the rule and a date range.
Add additional rules.
Two new slots for segment rules will also appear:
The first will be on the bottom part of the rule properties. Placing a new rule there will make the logical relation between the two rules to be "OR".
The second one will be placed below the rule properties box. Placing a new rule there will make the logical relation between the two rules to be "AND".
Once you have added all the rules for your segment you will need to name it from the Customer Segment Name setting. After that click Save Customer Segment to save the segment.
Saving the segment will give you the ability to generate a report based on the customer segment. Clicking on the Generate Report button will display all the customers that apply to the customer segment's rules.
You can Create a Campaign for these customers or export them to MailChim or a CSV file.
In the example below, we will create a customer segment of all the customers who visited the store once from 01/01/2017 to 01/06/2017 AND bought B 18E product from 01/01/2017 to 01/06/2017.
